LES ROYAUMES (THE KINGDOMS)
8 PERFORMERS — 1 H
There are eight of them facing an omen whose face is not distinguishable. How can we collectively prepare for an event that seems inevitable?
Like a modern epic, these eight performers, driven by their destiny, set off, walk together, cross the stages, break points, let themselves be crossed by challenge, love, adversity, friendship.
But here no lone hero, everything rests on the fragile balance of this group that is moving towards an unknown horizon but which has the power to turn the course of things.
For this new choral creation, Lucie Augeai and David Gernez were inspired by “The Art of War”, a classic text attributed to the Chinese general Sun Tzu (6th century BC), where excellence is to defeat without a fight. The Art of War is thus governed by five constant factors in which it is a question of energy, climate and terrain, command and method, moral law and wisdom.
If The Kingdoms reminds us of the fragility of each individuality, it is above all the story of an epic journey, of a cycle, that of a life, a season or a day, of a wheel that spins and does not stop.
